Sandblasting & Sealer Removal

Sandblasting & Sealer Removal

Over time, stamped concrete patios, driveways, and pool decks across Northeast Ohio can build up layer after layer of sealer. Eventually, that sealer can turn cloudy, peel, or trap moisture and leave white patches across the surface. At that point, cleaning or adding more sealer won’t fix it; the bad sealer needs to come off.

Trotta’s Power Washing offers professional sandblasting (media blasting) to remove failed sealer from residential stamped concrete so it can be properly cleaned and resealed.

Sandblasting & Sealer Removal

When Do You Need Sandblasting?

You may be a good fit for sandblasting if your stamped concrete:

  • Looks cloudy, hazy, or frosted
  • Has peeling or flaking spots
  • Shows white or milky patches from trapped moisture
  • Has been sealed multiple times and feels overly slick or plastic-like

When Do You Need Sandblasting? How Our Sandblasting Process Works

Stamped concrete is decorative, so we use a controlled process to protect the pattern and color:

  1. Inspection & Test Area
We inspect your stamped concrete, check the condition of the sealer, and often complete a small test area so you can see the expected result.
  2. Protection & Setup
Landscaping, siding, doors, and windows are protected as needed. We set up to control dust and debris around your home.
  3. Targeted Sealer Removal
Using professional blasting equipment and carefully chosen media, we strip away the failed sealer without grinding down the decorative surface.
  4. Cleanup & Next Steps
We collect the spent media and debris and leave the area as clean as possible. After blasting, your stamped concrete is ready for a proper washing and resealing service.

Why Not Just Add More Sealer?

It’s tempting to keep rolling on more sealer when stamped concrete starts to look dull, but that can make the problem worse, and can even lead to incredibly slick surfaces that can be unsafe when wet.

Removing the existing layers of sealer allows your stamped concrete to “breathe” again and gives the new sealer a clean surface to bond to. This helps your patio, driveway, or pool deck look better and hold up longer in Northeast Ohio’s tough weather.
